The solo performance Dorothea follows the life cycle of a hybrid creature that is a cross between a human and bubble wrap. From the clumsy stage of the larva in the cocoon, to the first delicate dance steps after the pupation, Dorothea deals with human coping strategies for fragile states of being. Dorothea gets tangled up in them, dances and wrestles with them, drags them around, tries to get rid of them and finally finds peace with them. What is behind the need to package fragility? Can fragile conditions also be perceived as gifts that arouse curiosity and anticipation at the thought of unwrapping them?

 

Dorothea is a relaxed performance.
