Short documentary movie by Julia Hitz, 32'

The performance The House with the Ocean View became famous in New York in 2002, and was an important milestone of Marina Abramović’s success in the USA. For 12 days and nights, she lived at the Sean Kelly Gallery in three geometric cubes, without food, speech or physical touch - but in intense energetic exchange with the audience.

 

In 2018 this major piece was re-performed in Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, Germany for the first time ever - by 26-year-old dancer Lyn Bentschik. The short documentary The Other House follows their journey, captures the timeless quality of the performance and confronts the performer with the creator herself.
